2005 Tony winner for Best Play, Doubt comes to The Ellen for one night only. Written by Academy Award winning author John Patrick Shanley, Doubt also captured the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was a critical and box office success on Broadway, running 525 performances. The 2008 screen version starring Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, was nominated for five Academy Awards.
The highly acclaimed Montana Repertory Theatre's national tour brings to life this stirring drama that is sure to become an American classic. Author Shanley sets Doubt in the fictional St. Nicholas Church School in the Bronx during the fall of 1964. What follows is a twisting and turning plot of faith, trust, human insight and a test of friendship that is theatre at its best. The riveting battle between a priest and a nun brings audiences to the edge of their seats and introduces topics that will be discussed long after the final curtain. Montana Repertory Theatre specializes in the great stories of our world and Doubt is no exception. Shanley, with his extraordinary theatrical sleight of hand, leaves no simple answers, no pat solutions, and no easy outs. This is playwriting on the highest level, matched by the magnificent talents of Montana Repertory Theatre. Click Here to buy tickets now |
